+Brown was the Yukon University president when it was accepted as the 97th member of Universities Canada in 2024, a move she said was the school's final step in its transition from a college. Brown accepted administrative leave from the university in November 2025 and left the position without ceremony. The Board stated that she had served with distinction and that the university had advanced key priorities in reconciliation and had solidified its identity as a university grounded and defined in and by the north. Dr. Shelagh Rowles, the school's provost, was named interim president and vice-chancellor.((“Yukon University president finishes term 'effective immediately,' school announces.” CBC News, 14 November 2025, website: Yukon University president finishes term 'effective immediately,' school announces | CBC News))
