He came north in 1898 and was a member of the Yukon Order of Pioneers in 1915.((Yukon Archives, Otto Nordling fond 79/34.)) Windy Bill Hutchison was a ship's carpenter and came to the Yukon before WWI to worked at the British Yukon Navigation shipyard. He also mined in the Whitehorse Copper Belt and in Dawson working on the dredges and other placer operations.
