In 1944 or 1945, Billy met Agnes Boss, daughter of Chief Jim Boss, and he moved to her home in the Whitehorse area. He was an exceptional bushman and was dubbed “the man with three hands” even though he only had one. When he cut wood for the river steamers he was able to cut and stockpile three cords a day using only an axe and a swede saw.((Bill Jack, celebration of life pamphlet.)) |
