- | Nathalie Parenteau was born in Montreal. She arrived in the Yukon in 1983 as a member of a youth group and worked for three months with the Yukon Conservation Society. For a few years she lived in a tent at the base of Nares Mountain and worked at the Carcross Visitors Reception Centre. In her twenties, she went to university and earned a degree in biology from Western University.
