Martin Berkman (b. 1961)
	
Martin Berkman was born in Montreal. He studied arts and geography and earned two different degrees from Concordia University and McGill University at the same time.((Patricia Robertson, "Poetic film marries art and wilderness." //Yukon News// (Whitehorse), 17 September 2007.)) Berkman won the National Film Board’s 2006 Yukon Northern Sights Short Film Competition where emerging film makers were invited to submit story ideas for films up to eight minutes. Berkman’s 2007 film, Adrenaline Bach, is a six-minute film written and directed by Berkman and produced by the National Film Board (NFB). The silent film features Tim Sellars, a triathlon athlete and musician, as he moves through the Yukon boreal forest.  The NFB called the film visually stunning and it was the official selection at the 2007 Montréal World Film Festival in its Focus on World Cinema category.((Patricia Robertson, "Poetic film marries art and wilderness." //Yukon News// (Whitehorse), 17 September 2007.)) 
	
Berkman’s works have appeared locally, nationally, and internationally in print, theatres, galleries, festivals, and conferences. He has produced photographs for Canadian Geographic magazine, HD and full dome video production for Yukon and Yukon First Nations at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, and photography and film production for the National Film Board of Canada.
