David Norton (b. ~1946)
	
Reverend David Norton served as the Yukon Anglican church’s Indian Ministries Coordinator in the 1980s.((Matthew Bossons, “Ex-priest will serve 3 years for abusing Yukon First Nation boys.” //Yukon News// (Whitehorse), 8 November 2023.)) Norton established St. Simon’s Church, now called the Old Log Church, in Whitehorse in 1984, emphasizing ministry to indigenous congregations.((Manuscript "Summery of the Anglican Church in Yukon" by Archdeacon Allan Haldenby of Dawson in 1957 and updated by Lee Sax and Bishop Ronald Ferris in 1991.))  
	
In 2018, David Norton received a 13-year sentence in Ontario for crimes against youth. In 2023, Norton had eight years left on his earlier sentence and was eligible for parole around 2027. In June 2023, Norton was found guilty of two counts each of historical sexual assault, sexual assault, and sexual interference. The charges date from incidents that happened in the Yukon in the 1980s.
