Joshua Phillpotts (b. 1929)
	
Joshua Phillpotts was born in Jamaica where he attended St. Peter’s Theological College. He was ordained an Anglican minister in 1958. Phillpotts was interested in missionary work, so he also studied blacksmithing, woodworking, and engineering drafting and design at Jamaica Government Technical College. In 1965, the Phillpotts accepted an offer from Bishop Henry Marsh to minister at the St. John the Baptist Church in Watson Lake. Yvonne went to work at the community clinic. Joshua travelled widely in the Watson Lake region, became president of the Watson Lake Home and School Association. The Phillpotts moved to Whitehorse in 1970 where Phillpotts became the Associate Priest at Christ Church Cathedral and pastor of communities along the Alaska Highway. He was the Yukon Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of Canada and a volunteer teacher for St. Johns Ambulance. Yvonne worked at the Whitehorse hospital.
