Peter Allan (1872 – 1917)

Peter Allan was born in Levis, Quebec.((D. Blair and Michael Gates, //The Yukon Fallen of World War I.// Whitehorse: Whitehorse Legion Branch 254: 17.)) In 1911 he was a miner at Glacier Creek, the head of a household, and a widower.((1911 Canadian Census)) He was recruited by George Black for service in the First World War and was in England in August 1917.((//Dawson Daily News// (Dawson), 17 August 1917.)) He was with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry on 30 October 2017 when he died during the battle for Passchendaele Ridge.((Michael Gates, //From the Klondike to Berlin: The Yukon in World War I.// Madeira Park B.C.: Harbour Publishing Co.
