Andrew F. Burleigh Andrew Burleigh was a southern entrepreneur and an investor in the British American Corp. in the late 1880s. The company contracted the Moran Bros. shipyard to build twelve sternwheelers to operate on the Yukon River. The boats were to connect with a proposed railway from Haines, Alaska to Five Finger Rapids. The //Mary F. Graff// sternwheeler was named for Burleigh’s wife, whose maiden name was Graff.
