Charlie Barrett Charlie Barrett operated a packing business, and he held the first contracts to supply the Yukon Telegraph cabins from Quesnel and Hazelton, British Columbia. Cataline (Jean Jacques Caux) took over until 1913 and he sold out to George Beirnes. The Quesnel section had to be supplied annually by 15 May, the Hazelton section by 1 July, and the Telegraph Creek section by 10 July. Barrett operated his business year-round, and in the winter he ran dogsled trains all the way to Dawson.((Bill Miller, Wires in the Wilderness: The Story of the Yukon Telegraph.
