Charles Burns (b. 1876) Charles Burns was born in Ireland. He was a Dawson cattleman in September 1916 when he enlisted to serve in the First World War.((Library and Archives Canada, Attestation Paper, WWI Reg. #2004514. 21 September 1916 at Dawson.)) He was recruited by Captain George Black and was in England by August 1917.((//Dawson Daily News// (Dawson), 17 August 1917.)) He returned to the Yukon after the war. Six men received vocational training from the Department of Soldiers’ Civil Re-Enlistment but C.
