In 1908, he was named Prefect Apostolic of the newly formed Prefecture Apostolic of Yukon. Father Bunoz was appointed the prefect of Yukon-Prince Rupert in 1908. He was appointed the Titular Bishop of Tentyris and the Vicar Apostolic of Yukon-Prince Rupert in 1917.
