Julio “Joe” Braga (1931 – 2017) Joe Braga was born at Bear Creek near Dawson to parents John and Angela Braga. He worked on a sternwheeler when he was sixteen before working for Yukon Consolidated Gold Corp on dredges #8 at Thistle Creek, and #11 at Clear Creek. He worked on the Mobile Oil cat trains up the Dempster Highway before he went on to Yukon Government Highways. He spent thirty years as a truck and equipment driver before he retired in 1994. He continued to drive heavy equipment for family friends until he decided that golf and socializing was a better way to spend his retirement.((“Julio ‘Joe’ Braga.” //Yukon News// (Whitehorse), 5 November 2017.))
