Lynette R. Bleiler Lyn Bleiler was born in Australia and married [Lowell] into the Middlecoff/Bleiler family with placer claims on Highet Creek. She was interested in preserving the family history and that led her to a wealth of stories relating to settler and mining history. She was a founding member of the Mayo Historical Society and instrumental in publishing a local history book, //Gold & Galena,// in 1990. Lyn also assisted with the development of the Binet House interpretation Centre. In 2003, she joined geographer Chris Burn and biologist Mark O'Donaghue in publishing //Heart of the Yukon// (2006). Lyn wrote a third of the text. She is the president of the Mayo Historical Society and has held this position for many years. Lyn Bleiler was awarded the 2006 Lifetime Achievement in Heritage Award at the Yukon Historical and Museum's Association (YHMA) 30th anniversary AGM and Conference, May 11-12, 2007.((Yukon Historical & Museums Association press release, 12 March 2007.))
