Lesley Brown Lesley Brown graduated with a PhD in kinesiology in 1966 and taught seventeen years at the University of Lethbridge, Albert before becoming vice-president at both Lethbridge and Mount Royal universities. Brown was appointed president of Yukon University in August 2021. Yukon College gained the status of university in May 2020, and Brown was tasked with finalizing and carrying out the strategic plan which includes creating a new science building on the main campus to bring outdated labs up to par. In 1924, Yukon University has 13 campuses across the Yukon. Brown hoped the Indigenous governance program would grow into an established school, and that the university can offer its own Bachelor of Nursing program in the future.((Dana Hatherly, “Canada’s 1st university north of 60 turns 60.”// Yukon News// (Whitehorse), 10 January 2024.))
