John William Harland “Will” Brown (1942-2021) Will Brown was born in Blairmore, Alberta and spent his childhood in the Crowsnest Pass area. He attended Cal Tech and lived in Calgary for four years studying and working. He and Michele (Mikki) Kilgannon married and moved to Carmacks in 1967 where Bill worked for Poole Engineering. In 1969, he started with the Yukon Government as a heavy equipment operator, itinerant foreman, and surface crew foreman. Bill was active in sports and volunteer work and he was an accomplished woodworker with a legacy of beautiful furniture and wood turnings. Will Brown was the first mayor of Carmacks.
