Ernest Frank Richardson Carey (1873 – 1950) Ernest Frank Richardson Carey was born in London, England. Constable Carey was a North-West Mounted Police officer at the Dawson Town Station in 1899. Carey was mining in the Dawson region in July 1916 when he enlisted to serve in the First World War.((Library and Archives Canada, Attestation Paper. WWI Reg. #1015702. 12 July 1916 at Sidney.)) He was recruited by Captain George Black and was in England by August 1917.((//Dawson Daily News// (Dawson), 17 August 1917.)) Private Carey returned to the Yukon after the war.
