Michael Dooley (1876 – 1916)
	
Michael Dooley was born in Westmeath, Ireland. He was eight years in the 1st Battalion, Leinster Regiment in India as a private, and later was a corporal in the United States Army.((D. He did some duty in Costa Rica.((Library and Archives Canada, Attestation Paper, WWI Reg. #1015550. April 13, 1916 in Sidney.)) He was working as a miner near Dawson in April 1916 when he enlisted to serve in the First World War. He joined the Yukon Infantry Company as a private and was promoted to corporal three months later. He transferred to the Canadian Engineers as a sapper in July and went overseas with his unit. He was posted to the Canadian Engineer Training Depot at Crowborough, Sussex and then transferred to the Tunnelling Company at the depot. He was on leave when he died of pneumonia in December.
