Roy Stanley Eby (1931 – 2012) Roy Eby grew up in Water Valley, Alberta, near Calgary. He worked in Fort Nelson as a lineman for C.N. and later settled in Watson Lake, working as a heavy equipment operator at the airport. Roy and Ellen married in 1956. They moved as newlyweds to Mile 48 on the Haines Road where Roy was employed at the pump station. Their three children were born there. Roy loved to hunt and fish, and he was an accomplished wood worker. The family moved to Whitehorse in 1969 as the pump station was closing.
