Adolph Freimuth Adolph Freimuth was born in Germany and studied music there before moving to Texas. He was in Vancouver for three years before 1900, and was the master of the Canadian Artillery band. Freimuth joined the Jackson and O’Brien theatre troupe that arrived in Dawson in August 1900. One of the members of the troupe was Kathleen “Kate” Rockwell, later known as Klondike Kate. The troop played in Arizona Charlie Meadows’ Palace Grand Theatre. Freimuth stayed in Dawson to became the leader of the Bittner Dramatic Company orchestra, give music lessons, and play for the Arctic Brotherhood and Eagles lodge dances and other events. Freimuth left Dawson for Seattle in 1907. He stayed with the Grand Theatre in Seattle for seven years before going on the road with an orchestra playing music for silent films.
