James F. Fyfe James F. Fyfe was a RCMP constable under Superintendent Z.T. Wood. He was sent to Rampart House with a male nurse, Arthur Lee, and vaccine to deal with a smallpox epidemic in August 1911. He enforced a quarantine in the community and patrolled outlying areas to warn people to stay away. He also disinfected tents and cabins. Most of the ill had recovered by the following June and there was only one fatality, an infant. [Moses Decitoron].((National Archives Canada, RG 18, vol. 164, f. 183-99.))
