Kristian Falkenberg Kristian Falkenberg was born in Norway and moved to Chicago in 1893. In 1897, he and a partner set out for the Klondike on the Edmonton Trail. They were twenty-two months enroute and reached Dawson on June 8, 1899, too late to stake a rich claim. Falkenberg went down the Yukon River to St. Michael and on to Seattle where he became a successful optometrist.((Walter R.
