William “Billy” Forbes 
	
Billy Forbes came to Whitehorse from the Liard River in the Dease Lake to enlist for service in the First World War.((Michael Gates,// From the Klondike to Berlin: The Yukon in World War I.// Madeira Park B.C.: Harbour Publishing Co. Ltd. 2017: 16.)) Forbes and his partner Jack Carpenter were long-time prospectors in the Freegold area.
