Jermie Germaine (1906 – 1990) Jermie Germaine came from Fort Good Hope. The name Germaine is derived from “Jermie.” Jermie’s wife, Sophia Christine, came from Aklavik to Fort Good Hope with her adoptive parents Et’tsì Ts’ò and Mädlin. They all, plus others from Fort Good Hope, moved to Lansing. Jermie and Sophia Christine had at least eight children and the ones who lived to be adults were Colley, Paul, Ellen, Frank, and Joe. They travelled the Stewart and Nadaleen rivers and around Swan Lake to hunt and dry meat. During the winter, they fished for whitefish, grayling, and trout in Ladue Lake. St. Pierre was the head man at Lansing and his wife was Mezie. When they died, their daughter Mary came to live with Jermie's family. Mary’s sister was Kätini. When her husband died, Kätini stayed with the Germaine family for a while at Rakla and Ladue. Jermie died before the sickness came to Lansing and the family moved to Rackla River where Paul and his siblings trapped. They built a cabin at Ladue Lake and the family lived there as well.((Linda E.T. MacDonald and Lynette R. Bleiler, //Gold & Galena.// Mayo Historical Society, 1990: 269, 377.))
