Charles MacGregor “Chuck” Halliday (1939 – 2017) Chuck Halliday was born to parents William and Emily Halliday.((“Charles ‘Chuck’ MacGregor Halliday.” In Memoriam, 2021 website: http://www.inmemoriam.ca/view-announcement-599070-charles-chuck-macgregor-halliday.html.)) He grew up in Vancouver and Halifax. His father was an officer in the Canadian Navy. He was a frigate captain in the Battle of the Atlantic which earned him the Order of the British Empire. Chuck worked at the Bank of Commerce in the lower mainland before transferring to Whitehorse in the 1960s. He married Marilyn Taylor and later worked at Taylor & Drury Motors. He became a general manager after the firm was renamed Taylor Chevrolet. Chuck and Marilyn had children Keith and Lea.((//Whitehorse Star// (Whitehorse), 3 February 2017.)) Chuck volunteered extensively with Kiwanis, Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, and the Yukon Order of Pioneers. He coached his children's sports teams. He was a founding member of the Yukon Foundation. In the 1990s, he sold his business interests and moved to Sechelt, British Columbia. He ran Sunshine GM and later Anchors Away Vacations and Cruises.
