John Halliburton bought many claims on Gold Bottom and Hunker creeks from La Societe Miniere Francais du Klondike et de l’Alaska and Hypolite de Silans of Lyon, France.((Yukon Archives, 8 July 1918. GOV 1654, f.29600-B 6(7).)) Halliburton was a jeweller in Dawson in February 1918 when he was drafted for service in the First World War.((Library and Archives Canada, WWI Reg. #2140271.))
