W.H. "Jack" Houston The Hudson’s Bay Company bought the store at Stewart Island in 1939, and Houston arrived to organize the post. The Stewart Island post was called Fort Nelson, and the Hudson’s Bay Company moved their building to Fort Nelson after the Fort Selkirk store closed.
