Ronald Fred Holway (1929 – 2023) Ron Holway was of Metis heritage, born on a farm near Fort St. John, British Columbia. He moved to Whitehorse in 1948 and worked at many jobs including horse wrangler and hunting guide, truck driver, and prospector.((“Ronald Fred Holway.” //Yukon News// (Whitehorse), 16 June 2023.)) In 1999, Holway moved a dredge from the Sixtymile River to Skagway, Alaska and started a tourism business.
