Hans Rudolph Johnson Hans Johnson prospected the mouth of Ledge Creek, where it flows into Mayo Lake, in 1910. He is listed as a quartz miner on Galena Creek in the 1915-1916 Polk’s gazetteer. He had an address at Minto Bridge in the mid-1910s and early 1920s. He staked No. 1 Below Discovery on Ledge Creek in 1926 and was the only miner working the creek between then and 1928. He partnered with George Reynolds and William Jeffrey Sr. in 1928 and they bought the claim in 1932.((Linda E.T. MacDonald and Lynette R.
