Joseph J. Joyal (1870 – 1916) Joseph Joyal was born in Montreal. Quebec. He joined the North-West Mounted Police in 1901 and served for six years. He left the Force in Whitehorse and worked as a tailor. Joyal enlisted for service in the First World War in October 1916. He trained at Willows Camp in Victoria, British Columbia and died there of heart failure. Joyal is buried in the Ross Bay Cemetery in Victoria, British Columbia.((D.
