Them Kjar
	
Them Kjar was hired in 1949 as the first director of a newly formed Yukon Game and Publicity Department. He was hired out of Alberta by the Territorial Council after they had been criticized in a //Look// magazine article for having a lack of game regulations. There were no biologists studying game, but it was Yukoners’ perception that game numbers were dropping.
