Pauline LePage (1907 – 1999) Pauline LePage was born in Merbeck, Germany, the first of six children to Louise and Joseph Leskosek. She emigrated to Canada with her family in 1912 and they settled in Maple Leaf, Alberta. Her father died when Pauline was twelve and she took various jobs in the Crow’s Nest Pass area to help support the family. Pauline and Happy LePage were married in 1928, and they moved to the Yukon. They lived at Happy’s wood camp at Rink Rapids. In 1929, they moved to Yukon Crossing and ran the roadhouse. Their daughter Phyllis was born there in 1930.((“In Loving Memory of Pauline Le Page.” Pamphlet.)) Pauline and the children moved into Whitehorse in 1934 so daughter Phyllis could go to school.
