Robert E. Leckie (1957 - 1999)
	
Robert Leckie worked as a mining inspector in Mayo from 1987 until 1999. He was concerned with environmental stewardship and encouraged innovative mining practices. He educated local miners on environmental practices and was a leader in developing positive relationships between government and industry. He was instrumental in conducting research into environmental placer mining practices and encouraged industry to conduct their operations to a high standard. The Yukon government honours Robert Leckie with an annual award in his name for outstanding environmental stewardship in mining and exploration.((Yukon Government, //Hansard,// 20 November 2013.))
