Colin N. Mayes (b. 1948)
	
Colin Mayes was the mayor of Dawson between 12 December 1974 and 11 December 1975.  He was Canada’s youngest mayor at the time.((Kathy Jones-Gates, “Notes from the Municipal Archives.” //The Klondike Sun// (Dawson), 13 November 1991.))

Mayes left Dawson and was elected major of Salmon Arm, British Columbia before he was elected as a Conservative to the House of Commons for the riding of Okanagan-Shuswap (2006-2015). While he was in office, he caused a minor controversy by responding favourably to an e-mailed racist joke.
