Darrell Richard Morgan (1925 – 2018) Darrel Morgan was born in Ladysmith, British Columbia to Jane and Daniel Morgan and he had one sibling, Earl. He went into service with the Royal Canadian Navy, stationed in Halifax, in 1942. After the war, he and Thelma B. Clements met in 1946 and they had three children Mary Jane, Susan, and Dale. Farrell worked in mining, logging truck driving, and was a mechanic in British Columbia. He came to the Yukon in the late 1950s and met and married Myrtle Crayford there. He worked at Klondike Motors, was a mechanical superintendent for Yukon Consolidated Gold Corp and owned and operated Darrell’s Welding. In the 1970s, he and Myrtle established Black Mike’s Inn in Dawson. He was a member of the Dawson Yukon Order of Pioneers. Darrell and Myrtle mined on Green Gulch, a tributary of Sulphur Creek until the mid-2000s.
