Donald Morrison Don Morrison was one of the best-known pioneer miners in the Mayo District. He was born in Oban, Scotland and came to the Mayo district in 1922. He and long-time partner Harry Colley staked the original Calumet claim, one of the richest ever discovered in the area. He died at the age of 46 and was survived by his wife, Jean, Louis Bouvette's niece, and their daughter Mary Jean.((Linda E.T. MacDonald and Lynette R.
