John “Jack” Maskell (1882 – 1918)
	
Jack Maskell was born in London, England. He worked at Stewart Island and later in Dawson with the Cascade Laundry and other businesses. He lived in Dawson for a number of years and in 1918 was working on a dredge in the goldfields. Jack was a good singer and reciter of Robert Service poetry. He was a member of the Dawson Order of Eagles. He bought a ticket for Vancouver as the first stage of a trip to England to marry his fiancée, Dorothy Burgess of Manchester.
