Michel Murray (d. 1914) Mike Murray prospected on the Stewart River above Lansing and in the Rogue River country in the early 1900s.((R. C. Coutts, //Yukon: Places & Names.// Sidney, B. C.: Gray’s Publishing Ltd. 1980.)) Murray found fine gold ten miles further up the south fork of the Stewart River in 1904.((//The Yukon Sun// (Dawson), 12 January 1904.)) Murray died of exposure at Donjek in February 1914. He was on his way to the new Chisana new gold discovery in the St. Elias Mountains.(("Died on trail to Chisana gold strike.
