Axel Nordling (1919 – 1976) Axel Nordling was born in Dawson.((Linda E.T. MacDonald and Lynette R. Bleiler, //Gold & Galena.// Mayo Historical Society, 1990: 433.)) He was a Yukon Consolidated Gold Corporation employee who signed up for service in the Second World War and returned to the company after the war. He started working as an operator at the Dawson Electric Light and Power Co. (D.E.L.&P. Co.) in Dawson in 1946.((Pretoria Butterworth, "Employees of the Yukon Consolidated Gold Corporation." Axel was a past president of the Yukon Order of Pioneers, Dawson Lodge #1. He was a colourful character and a driving force behind the annual Dawson Discovery Day events.
