Joseph Navarro (d. 1896) Joseph Navarro was originally from Chile and came to the Yukon in 1888.((John Gould, "Yukon Order of Pioneers: A History." Unpublished manuscript.)) He was in Forty Mile in December 1894 to sign the charter of the Yukon Order of Pioneers.((Yukon Archives, D. E. Griffith, “Forty-Milers on Parade.” Coutts coll. 78/69 MSS 087 f.5.)) Navarro took sick at Forty Mile in November 1895 and could not buy wood or pay the doctor’s bills which were $52 to $64 every two weeks.
