She was involved in the francophone community right away and in 1985, Hélène Saint-Onge and Roger Bouchard hosted the radio show //Rencontres.//((Karen McColl, “Association franco-yukonnaise looks back on 35 years. //CBC News,// 8 April 2017.)) Hélène worked as a French monitor and a teacher at Ecole Whitehorse Elementary School.((Angélique Bernard, “The Contributions of Yukon Francophone Women.” //Whats Up Yukon,// 26 February 2025.)) She was the school’s principal in 2010 when she decided to increase the learning assistance company at the school and also increase her counselling. Hélène co-founded Le Théâtre de la Pastèque and was a board member for Nakai Theatre. She played Emile Tremblay in a video about the francophone pioneer woman. Hélène Saint Onge has received a national award from the Canadian French Language Teachers Association and a territorial education award.
