Lee Olynyk and Ron Toews were partners at Last Chance when they recovered a partially frozen carcass of a Yukon horse dating from the last ice age. This is one of the most significant ice age horse finds in Yukon and consists of a large piece of hide with hair and mane attached; a partial forelimb with muscles, tendons and bones; and a portion of the horse’s internal organs. The mummified remains can be seen on display at the Yukon Beringia Centre.((“Yukon Horse,” Yukon Beringia Centre 2018 website: http://www.beringia.com/exhibit/ice-age-animals/yukon-horse))
