Felix Pedro Felix Pedro was an experienced miner who worked in the Cariboo, was on the Fortymile drainage in 1893, and in the Klondike during the gold rush. In 1901, Pedro outfitted at Circle, Alaska for a prospecting trip up the Tanana River. He and Tom Gilmore stopped at Barnette’s store on the Chena River and told the owner of promising gold finds in the area. The news spread of Pedro’s find and Fairbank’s future was secured.((//Golden Places: The History of Alaska-Yukon Mining.// “Fairbanks,” National Park Service. 2018 website: https://www.nps.gov/parkhistory/online_books/yuch/golden_places/chap7.htm))
