George Washington Pennington (1856 - 1933) George Pennington came to Dawson in 1897 and lost his outfit in the Whitehorse Rapids along the way. He worked for the NAT&T Co. and was their agent at Forty Mile in 1902. He operated a sawmill in Nenana staring in 1915 and moved to Texas in 1919.((Evangeline Atwood and Robert N.
