Arthur Karl Sailer (1932 – 2019) Art Sailer was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta to parents Agnes and Frederic Sailer. He met and married Noreen in Medicine Hat. Art was trained as a mechanic and he and his wife Noreen came to the Yukon for a job opportunity.((“Arthur Karl Sailer.” //Yukon News// (Whitehorse), 10 July 2019.)) They arrived in Dawson in 1961 and Art worked for a company that was building bridges across the Klondike River near Dawson and on the McQuesten River. They started mining on Quartz Creek in 1964 with a baby daughter and a large German Shepard dog. In 1967, they added a son to the family. They mined on Quartz Creek until 1971 and then moved to Dominion Creek. The children grew up on the claim and both married. Their son had two children who also grew up on the claim. The Klondike Placer Miners Association named Art and Noreen Sailer Mr. and Mrs Miner of the Year in 1987.
