Donald Edmund Sawatsky (1938 – 1997) Don Sawatsky was a journalist and writer living in Whitehorse. He started his career as a full-time copy boy at the //Calgary Herold// and then moved to the //Kamloops Sentine//l and the //Nelson News// in British Columbia. In 1965, he moved to the Yukon where he became a free-lance journalist. In 1975, Don published //Ghost Towns Trails of the Yukon// only to find it republished under another author’s name [in 1977]. It took ten years of court battle to win his case and get his manuscript, minus the photographs, returned. In 1994, it was reprinted under his name in the Yukon as //Ghost Towns and Trails of the Yukon.//((Sam Holloway, “Yukoners: The Insane Ones.” //The Yukon News// (Whitehorse), 9 February 1996.))
