Edward Stillman (1871 - 1917) Edward Stillman was born in England in Newbury, Kent, Burkshire, and was raised and educated there. He came to Canada and joined the North-West Mounted Police (NWMP) as a young man. He arrived in the Yukon in 1897. He was secretary to Major Z.T. Wood in Dawson for years, and remained with the Force until 1905.((//Dawson Daily News// (Dawson), 24 November 1917.)) In 1904, Staff Sergeant Sillman was stationed at Fort Selkirk. He reported the storekeeper Klimesch was selling wholesale liquor to nearby roadhouses.((Yukon Archives, 82/220 (F-41). He was a member of the Dawson Lodge No 50 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was also a member of the Yukon Rifles and the British Empire Club.
