John Sipkus (d. 1939) John Sipkus was a pioneer wood dealer and well-respected and long-time resident of Dawson. After a dispute over wages that amounted to three or four dollars, D.J. McPhee shot and killed Sipkus who was on the river front at Dawson. McPhee then shot and killed himself.((//The Whitehorse Star// (Whitehorse), 15 September 1939.))
