Kenneth Melvin Spotswood (1945 – 2015) Ken Spotswood was born in Saint John, New Brunswick. He enjoyed an award-winning career in print and television journalism. He was a photo-editor and reporter at //The Province// (Vancouver) from 1966 to 1979. He was head writer and producer at CKVU-TV News from 1979-1981. He was the Northern Bureau Chief for //Southam News// and the //Edmonton Journal// while living in Yellowknife from 1981 to 1983.((//Yukon News// (Whitehorse), 22 June 2016.)) Spotswood was an actor and comedy writer with a touring troupe in Toronto from 1983 to 1985 and later acted with the Whitehorse Drama Club. He was an assignment editor and producer for BCTV //Weekend News Hour// from 1985 to 1989. He lived in Whitehorse and Dawson City from 1989 to 2004 and was communications officer for the Yukon Anniversaries Commission, Yukon Electrical, and the RCMP. He was an Executive Producer for Northern Native Broadcasting, media skills instructor at Yukon College, and a features writer for the //Yukon News// (Whitehorse).((//Yukon News// (Whitehorse), 22 June 2016.)) He was a well-read, intelligent man with an outrageous sense of humour. He was a gourmet chef who loved to hold themed costume dinner parties.
