William Alexander Steel (1866 - 1934) William Steel was employed by several newspapers in the Seattle area and the editor of the //Morning Telegraph.// He was the co-founder of the //Dawson Daily News// in 1899. He edited the //Nome Daily News// from 1900 to 1906 and went on to become the city editor for the //Seattle Times.// He returned to Alaska to work on other papers.
